Review

“Little did these heroes of yore know that soon they would finally leave the farm. But they never could have anticipated where they would go…or what it would cost them.”

A magical stranger comes to town and turns two comic book universes on their heads.

Creative, publisher-spanning, crossovers have the potential to be great, but with great potential comes a heightened possibility of failure; thankfully, writer Jeff Lemire does a fantastic job in bridging the space that spans between DC and Dark Horse. This issue reads quite well thanks to Lemire’s genre-defying writing skills. To the issue’s great benefit, both creative properties carry equal weight and read authentically.

At some point, in a crossover like this one, two worlds must become one; that moment, in this issue, is impressively rendered by artist Michael Welsh. Much like Lemire’s writing, Walsh’s style bridges the gap between Black Hammer and the Justice League.

Black Hammer/Justice League: Hammer of Justice! #1 is off to a great start; this crossover promises to be great.

Jupiter’s Legacy Is Not Watchmen and That’s Okay: Netflix Original Series Review

Jupiter’s Legacy hits incredibly hard while offering viewers a well-crafted blend of caped-crusading-escapism and social commentary; this combination makes for a grounded viewing experience that’s as exciting as it is though-provoking. Jupiter’s Legacy is a must-watch series.

Eve #1 Review

Eve is more than just a typical “save the planet” story. It is more about a little girl’s courage and a love that endures even in simulation. Armed with the fake bear and a dinghy, her adventure starts.
