Meanwhile, Green Lanterns Hal Jordan, John Stewart, Guy Gardner & Kyle Rayner make their respective battle plans, but time’s running out for a miracle. Can we move Daylight Savings to July to get that extra hour? Our boys and girls in green are gonna need it.

Review:

Finally, the moment that we readers have been waiting for has arrived: in one corner there are the murderous space-vigilantes, the Darkstars, and in the other, there is the universe’s police force, the Green Lantern Corps, teamed with Zod, Akrillo, and Orion; when the bell rings, all hell is bound to break loose as these two groups battle for interstellar supremacy.

Writer Robert Venditti has thus far done a stunning job in creating tension and excitement leading up to this battle; he’s continued to retain and gain momentum over the course of the last several issues, and now that the moment has come for the two space-forces to battle it out, Venditti keeps the energy levels high with an well-crafted script that is nothing short of exciting.

Rafa Sandoval’s energetic and highly-detailed illustrations are intense and yet, even amidst the chaos of the space battle royale that we readers have been eagerly awaiting, provide a sort of visual clarity that makes reading this book a pleasure. In previous reviews I’ve spoken about my preferences when it comes to comic book art, and here, in Hal Jordan and The Green Lantern Corps (2016-) #48, Sandoval produces a visually stunning work that meets my ideals and exceeds my expectations; Hal Jordan and The Green Lantern Corps (2016-) #48 looks exactly the way I think that modern (superhero) comics should look.

Overall, Issue #48 is one of my favorite Hal Jordan and The Green Lantern Corps to date and I am looking forward to what’s still to come. Surely, issues 49 & 50 are going to be fantastic…

The Bottom Line:

Robert Venditti and Rafa Sandoval come out swinging and, in terms of excitement and readability, end up producing a comic, Hal Jordan and The Green Lantern Corps (2016-) #48, that stands out as one of the best chapters in the Darkstars saga.

Jupiter’s Legacy Is Not Watchmen and That’s Okay: Netflix Original Series Review

Jupiter’s Legacy hits incredibly hard while offering viewers a well-crafted blend of caped-crusading-escapism and social commentary; this combination makes for a grounded viewing experience that’s as exciting as it is though-provoking. Jupiter’s Legacy is a must-watch series.

Eve #1 Review

Eve is more than just a typical “save the planet” story. It is more about a little girl’s courage and a love that endures even in simulation. Armed with the fake bear and a dinghy, her adventure starts.
