Sonic The Hedgehog (2018-) #2 is the kind of comic book that comes as a breath of fresh air and allows readers who are weighed down by plot and drama to sit back and do nothing other than enjoy the ride. The story is simple and straightforward enough to be enjoyed by young readers, and despite being incredibly accessible, there’s enough here for long-time Sonic fans and experienced comic book readers to appreciate and find joy from.
Regardless of how this book stands up to other books on the shelves, Sonic The Hedgehog (2018-) #2 is well-written and moves at a breakneck pace (duh) that’s exciting. Both the script and the artwork are lively and energetic. Ian Flynn’s dialogue, especially the banter that occurs between Sonic and Amy, is fun and feels authentic, and Adam Bryce Thomas’ illustrations are clean and crisp and move fluidly from one scene to the next.
There’s a whole lot here worth appreciating. If you’re looking for a good time, read Sonic The Hedgehog (2018-) #2.
The Bottom Line:
Packed with action and no-nonsense fun, Sonic the Hedgehog #2 is an extremely accessible comic book that, while being ideal for young readers, also manages to entertain long-time fans of the character who are young only in heart
