Review:

Prepare to be amazed; based on a novel concept, Dissonance is an exciting and imaginative new series that successfully stands out from the rest of the Sci-fi Fantasy comics on the shelves.

One of the most defining aspects of this book is its beautifully built landscape and creative characters, this combination makes Dissonance look and feel fresh and unique and in an industry that is dominated by men in spandex fighting monster and aliens and preventing world-ending events from taking place originality is key. Dissonance #1 introduces all of the major players and gives readers a peek at the luscious world; I was looking for more byway of plot development but there was a lot of work that needed to be done and a lot of words that needed to be written before this story could blossom. With all of that done, well, I am confident that the creatives behind Dissonance have one hell of a story planned and it is only a matter of time before Dissonance blossoms into a fantastic series.

Sami Basri’s artwork is stunning, and Sakti Yuwono’s colors are vibrant and make each panel pop from the page. I’m excited to see what’s to come and what else the creative team has in store for readers.

The Bottom Line:

Dissonance is an imaginative new series that feels fresh and oozes originality. There was a whole lot of explaining that had to be done, but the creative team behind this book handled the task like experts and successfully produced an entertaining work while also introducing readers to an exciting new world. With the major players introduced I am confident that Dissonance will blossom into a fantastic series; this is one to watch.
